| Una de las aves más bellas de la región es aún más impresionante durante la temporada de anidación cuando exhibe largas y filamentosas plumas finas en la nuca, pecho y punta de las alas. Forma pareja de por vida, y anida en colonias mixtas con otras garzas. A veces se le ve revolviendo el agua con una pata estirada para espantar a su presa. |

| One of the most beautiful birds in the region is even more beautiful during nesting season, when it shows long, thin and lacy feathers at the back of the neck,breast and tips of the wings. It mates for life,and nests in mixed colonies with other egrets an herons. It is sometimes seen stirring the water with an outstretched leg to startle its prey. |
