Launching of the Green Guide
Mexiconservación officially launched its Green Guide at an event organized by the Mexican Commission for Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) on the 10 March 2007. The event was held at the Xcaret Park and coincided with the regional Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System Day celebrations. Also participating in the event were Flora, Fauna y Cultura de México, the Mesoamerican Reef Tourism Initiative (MARTI), Amigos de Sian Ka’an, the Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL), WWF and the Comité Estatal de Protección a las Tortugas Marinas.

The first 2000 copies of the Green Guide came hot off the press that day so we could begin distribution. To our delight, in the first week following the event, copies were placed in a far greater number of locations than we had originally anticipated: from Puerto Morelos down to Tulum.
