Coral Reef Monitoring in Xcalak Marine Park

During the first week of October, Lucy Gallagher, our Marine Projects Director, headed down to Xcalak for the second time this year to help out the Marine Park Authority (CONANP) with their coral reef monitoring activities. She was joined by volunteer Lena Ericson.

Lucy and Lena have worked together in the past on fish identification surveys and were happy to note that the reef was in extremely good condition following Hurricane Dean. Thanks again to CONANP for allowing us to join them down at their Field Station in Xcalak..
