A member of the same family as the Bar Jack and the Permit, this schooling fish is found in tight groups of hundreds of thousands of individuals. It is a very common coastal fish worldwide. A nocturnal feeder, it eats small shrimp and fish larvae. Schools are commonly seen being “herded” by barracuda, or attacked by Bar Jacks. |
